INSTITUTO INTERCULTURAL BAHIA MUNDO

Bahla Mundo is a very new association of concerned citizens ( a large part of us are teachers) from several parts of the world (Argentina, Brazil, France, so far) living in Salvador and generally speaking in the north-eastern Brazilian state of Bahia and committed to finding solutions for meaningful community developement.

We endeavour to bring into contact volunteers from all other the world with local associations in need of sustainable help for their projects. We develop also our own projects related to ecotourism in off-beat destinations and especially into the caatinga areas, far from the beach scene that everybody's already heard of.

We think that it's possible to manage to see both types of Brazil, and have a more social look at things with a hands-on attitude. Let's share by doing !

Our partner associations come from all walks of life and we share with them a deep desire to change the world using the very best of each and other one abilities.

We have projects in the Salvador area (Mussurunga, Paripe, São Caetano, etc.) but also and mainly in the Piemonte da Diamantina region (Jacobina, Capim Grosso, Umburanas), the Chapada Diamantina region (Iraquara, Seabra, Lençóis) the São Francisco River (Sobradinho, Sento-Sé) and South Bahia (ilhéus, Camamu, Itacaré, Itajuipe)...

Check us out. We speak for the large majority of us fluent French, English and/or Spanish and, of course, Portuguese. We even give Portuguese classes when you are part of the program. But if you speak a language we don't speak make sure that you'll be accepted the same way as the other. We just like to meet people !

See you soon in Salvador !
