Systems/Network Administrator

SYSTEMS/NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR (CRANE-16-0579-F):

Bowhead seeks a Systems/Network Administrator in support of the Radar Technologies Division at NSWC Crane. Responsible for maintaining Microsoft Windows domain networks as well as stand-alone computer systems (Microsoft Server 2003, Server 2012 and Windows 7).


Provide troubleshooting and assistance for technical problems within the network that exist or may arise due to upgrades or changes in the systems including but not limited to:
o Network troubleshooting
o Workstation/Server problems
o Printer problems
o Software/Hardware problems
o Compatibility problems
o Security problems


Assist in maintaining IA compliance of LABNET by providing:


• Patching, updating and securing all IA assets to stay compliant with IA requirements.
• Performing monthly and random checkup scans on all IA assets to ensure compliancy
• Provide support for Information Awareness actions including SCAP scans, NESSUS scans, maintain antivirus definitions, installing patches, making registry changes, installing software, and maintaining an 8570 certification.
• Remediate findings and troubleshoot problems encountered during scanning or updating
• Reporting of all scans, patching, and findings
• Assist in managing and maintain backups, offsite storage, and data recovery for LABNET Windows servers, networked workstations and standalone workstations.
• Provide assistance and training to LABNET users with hardware and software problems under Windows.
• Provide support for maintaining certification & accreditation plans, network diagrams, hardware/software lists, how-to guides for administration and remediation tasks, contingency plans, ports protocols and services policies and POA&M
• Manage/maintain transfer of data between LABNET database and external databases (SWMS, LaserFiche)


•• Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.


•• Must have Windows domain administration experience


•• Must maintain an 8570 certification (Level II IAT)


•• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint


•• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts


•• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team


CLEARANCE: Must be able to obtain security clearance at the SECRET level. Active SECRET clearance preferred. US Citizenship is required for this level of security.


Physical Demands: The office environmental conditions consist of computer stations and desks with adequate and adjustable lighting. Chairs are designed to fit the various individuals and the tasks being performed. Ergonomic evaluations are completed as needed, to provide up to date modifications to all work stations.
