Systems Administrator - Senior

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR – SENIOR (CRANEIT-16-0162-F):

Bowhead is hiring a Senior Systems Administrator to plan and schedule the installation of hardware, operating systems, and applications software and manage computer accounts, privileges, and access to systems and equipment.


The Senior Systems Administrator will also manage system resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.


The Senior Systems Administrator will implement security procedures and tools, develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures, and resolve hardware and software interface and interoperability problems.


The Senior Systems Administrator will manage the installation and integration of systems fixes updates and enhancements and ensure the rigorous application of information security policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services. The Senior Systems Administrator provides services that are outside the cognizance of the Navy Marine Corp Intranet (NMCI) contract.


• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) and five (5) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience and certifications.


• IAT Level II or III Certification


• Experience with servers, Windows and UNIX, Linux, Red Hat, CentOS, also Windows 7 and Windows 8


• Experience with operating system and application patching


DESIRED SKILLS:


• Prior experience supporting the Information Technology Services Division (Code 104) at NSWC Crane


SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance and maintain access to government/military installations. Active Secret clearance preferred. US Citizenship is a requirement for access to this military installation


Physical Demands: The office environmental conditions consist of computer stations and desks with adequate and adjustable lighting. Chairs are designed to fit the various individuals and the tasks being performed. Ergonomic evaluations are completed as needed, to provide up to date modifications to all work stations.

Where driving may be required or where a rental car must be obtained for business travel purposes, applicants must have a valid driver license for this position and will be subject to verification. In addition, the applicant must pass an in-house, online, driving course to be authorized to drive for company purposes.
