Quality Assistant Manager - ADVICS - Terre Haute, IN
The Quality Assistant Manager works under the supervision of the Quality Manager. The Quality Assistant Manager plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, testing, and/or integration of quality procedures and activities to assure compliance with ADVICS and customer expectations. The Quality Assistant Manager will be responsible for directing the Quality Engineers and problem solving team members engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials and products. This position plays an active role on quality improvement teams within the organization.
Essential Functions
- Applies statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiment (DOE) methods for analyzing data to evaluate and develop data driven activity plans.
- Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
- Involved with the day to day operations of the plant floor, communicating information to the management staff.
- Provides support and direction to Quality Control staff to ensure quality specifications are met while adhering to the company’s policies and standards.
- Supports and coordinates with the Quality Manager and other staff for quality results.
- Supports company policies and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods for improvements.
- Recommends cost reductions related to the manufacturing side.
- Troubleshoots quality system issues and provides solutions.
- Provides a spirit of cooperation in the Quality Department.
- Provides support to the Quality Manager by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing quality issues; answering questions and responding to requests.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Manages projects, develops project plans; completes projects on time and within budget.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists personnel in solving work problems.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position directly supervises the Quality Staff.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and/or manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Frequently the work environment may be loud, requiring hearing protection. While performing the duties of this job, the employee has some exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Personal protective equipment may be required.

This is a full-time position.
Expected Hours of Work
Team member must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and as deemed necessary by company/customer demands.
Travel
Occasional overnight travel.
Required Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree from an accredited College or University. A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience and/or training preferred. Previous supervisory experience in the Quality Control discipline. Experience with OEM with Toyota, Honda and Nissan.
- Knowledge of APQP methodology.
- Knowledge of ISO systems.
- Experience with project management.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree of Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with TS: 16944.
