Responsibilities:

  • Clean, wash and sanitize dishes, silverware and utensils used to serve residents and others

  • Assist in maintaining the general cleanliness of the dishwashing area; clean work area and equipment as assigned.

  • Use proper infection control techniques and protective equipment as needed; perform all duties using proper safety techniques.

  • Attend and participate in in-service education opportunities

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Highway Department Class B Maintenance W... - Vigo County, IN - Terre Haute, IN

Incumbent serves as Maintenance Worker for the Vigo County Highway Department, responsible for operating various trucks and equipment in maintaining County roads, bridges, and rights-of-way.

CDL minimum Class B with air brakes is required.


Examples of Duties:
Operates various trucks and related equipment in clearing, maintaining, and repairing County roads, bridges, and right-of-way, such as dump truck, snow plow, salt spreader, front-end loader, backhoe, asphalt hot box, brine truck, rubber wheel loader, oil distributor, compaction roller, broom, tractors, and mowers.


Hauls, dumps, and/or spreads blacktop, rock, sand, aggregate, and cinders as required for assigned projects, including road preparation for blacktopping. Maintains road safety in winter months, including plowing snow and applying salt/sand.


Regularly checks trucks and equipment to ensure proper fluid levels and mechanical functions, including tire pressure, lights, and changing oil, washing trucks, and changing snow plow blades. Reports problems with equipment/vehicles immediately to mechanic or supervisor.


Runs salt box on ice and snow, patches holes, chips and seals surfaces for winter, installs and replaces guardrails, grades gravel roads, installs driveway pipes and road drainage pipes, digs ditches, sweeps and clears excess rocks, and scrapes and maintains road berms and shoulders, including replacing ditch tiles and culvert pipes.


Assists with various road maintenance duties, including cutting and removing fallen trees, clearing brush and weeds, removing dead animals and other debris, and other duties as needed.


Performs manual labor as required to complete work assignments, including, but not limited to, shoveling materials, digging holes, mulching brush, and lifting/carrying materials and supplies. Performs flagging/traffic control duties at work sites as necessary.


Operates various power and/or hand tools in performance of duties, such as hammers, screw drivers, wrenches, drills, ratchets, files, power saws, chain saw, jack hammer, air nozzle, air compressor, gauges, grinder, cutting torch, welding equipment, pressure washer, steam cleaner, shovels, floats, weed eater, pole saw, rakes, brooms, and other hand or power tools as required for work assignments.

Typical Qualifications:

Ability to work extended hours, evenings, and/or weekends if necessary.

Supplemental Information:
Incumbent’s duties often involves continuous physical exertion, driving for long periods, lifting/carrying objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds, pushing/pulling objects, shoveling, digging, raking, bending, crouching/kneeling, reaching, standing/walking for long periods, walking on rough terrain, close/far vision, color/depth perception, handling/grasping/fingering objects and hearing sounds.


Incumbent performs majority of duties in trucks/equipment and outdoors and is regularly exposed to normal hazards associated with road maintenance, including heavy machinery, traffic, excessive noise, moving parts, grease, dirt, toxic chemicals, vehicle fumes, working in confined areas, extreme temperatures, wet/icy conditions, and Inclement weather. In responding to emergency situations, incumbent may be exposed to such hazards as downed power lines and/or fallen trees. Safety precautions must be followed at all times to avoid injury to self or others and protective gear must be worn according to Department policy.


Normal summer work hours are Monday – Thursday [6:30AM to 5:00 PM]

Normal winter work hours are Monday – Friday [7:30 AM to 4:00 PM].

RESPONSIBILITIES:


One of Kforce’s clients in the Terre Haute, IN area is seeking a contractor Project Management role within Information Services on the Physician Office Implementation team.

Overview:
The Implementation Team is a fast paced, ever changing environment within the Information Services department where the team delivers the company’s Electronic Medical Record (Cerner) out to physician office practices that are associated/partnered with the healthcare system.


The IS strategy is to deploy meaningful customer-driven tools to the clinical workflow. Moving away from shadow charts to a fully electronic medical record will allow clinicians across all venues to have access to relevant and current patient data when providing care and services to patients in all facilities state wide. The overall objective of the Physician Office Implementation team is to bring all the physician office practices up on the healthcare system’s Cerner EMR as it complies with the Federal Government’s definition for meaningful use State II of an enterprise health record. This contractor Project Manager position will participate in the investigation, process design, development, deployment, and support of the EMR application out to the healthcare system and healthcare system Physicians group outpatient clinic locations. This project will be with the Union Hospital system located in Terre Haute, IN.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must have relevant EMR project management experience; Cerner experience is not required but is considered favorable and anyone without EMR implementation experience will not be considered

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects at a time and must be able to manage tasks, plans, resources, and expectations associated to those multiple projects

  • Must have strong communication skills both written and verbal skills due the level at which must communicate status/progress at executive levels of the organization

  • Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to work in a dynamic team environment as well as work independently

  • May be from outside the Indianapolis area but local individuals are preferred due to nature of the client’s implementation program

The Security staff will endeavor to accomplish its goal through the enforcement of laws, fire and safety regulations, rules and regulations of both institutions and by the constant vigil of persons and circumstances, which might impact the completion of thimission.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  1. Patrols buildings, grounds, perimeter, and off campus residences being ever vigilant for security of residents and students as well as watchful for fire and safety hazards.

  2. Checks and maintains equipment in good working order and reports problems to the proper authority.

  3. Responds to emergency situations such as fire and security issues and assists in the coordination of emergency services when such providers are called.

  4. Prepares written reports of accidents, safety hazards and breaches of the peace and security of the campus.

  5. Prepares a detailed written log of activities outlining activities, complaints or any issues concerning the campus and its residents.

  6. Enforces the rules and regulations of the Sisters of Providence as outlined in the employee handbook, as well as college rules and regulations dealing with student conduct.             

  7. Enforces speed limits and parking regulations of both institutions.

  8. Monitors the fire protection systems.

  9. Courteously provides aid and assistance to residents, staff, and visitors to the campus when requested.

  10. Turns on lights, locks doors, and provides other security tasks as assigned.

  11. Keeps the department director informed of any issues which may impact the security of the campus or the efficiency of the security department and its personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS


  1. Must be able to communicate effectively by both written and oral means with a variety of people in a variety of circumstances.

  2. Must be able to work in a cooperative effort with sisters, staff, students, faculty, and within a small, closely knit working department.

  3. Must be able to respond, and effectively act in emergency situations.

  4. Must have knowledge of and embrace of the philosophy of the institutions and project that image through their conduct.

  5. Must be adaptive to situations ranging from the ability to perform security tasks, such as enforcement of rules and regulations, to those involving providing personal assistance to sisters, staff, students, and visitors.

 


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  1. High school graduate

  2. Previous security or police experience helpful

WORK ENVIRONMENT


The work environment is that of a college campus or retirement community. The possibility of stressful emergencyconditions and the possibility of confrontation with uncooperative,belligerent, confrontational persons exist.
