PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Maintains the kitchen work areas, equipment, plate ware and utensils in a clean, sanitary and organized fashion. Assists in food preparation as needed. Assists in outside maintenance of the grounds and building as assigned.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS AND DUITES:
Scrapes and pre-rinses food from dirty dishes, silverware, utensils and small wares and places them in an efficient and orderly fashion onto a dish rack which is then placed through the dishwashing machine.
Washes pots, pans and heavily soiled items by hand and / or through the dishwashing machine.
Completes all assigned prep work in a timely fashion as prescribed by Applebee’s.
Removes trash and garbage to the dumpster area and then deposits the trash and / or garbage in the proper receptacle.
Washes work areas, tables, counters, walls, floors, refrigeration and cooking requirement.
Cleans garbage cans and trash receptacles as needed.
Assembles and maintains dishwashing machine, including proper temperatures, throughout the shift. Breaks down, cleans and reassembles dishwashing machine at the end of the shift.
Any and all other operational tasks as assigned by Management. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Must be at least 16 years of age upon date of hire.
Transports, lifts and stocks onto shelves cases up to 50 pounds a minimum of 10 times per day.
Ability to place plates, utensils, pans, pots and miscellaneous kitchen small-wares on both high and low shelving.
Works both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
Works in a hot and damp environment.
Able to respond quickly in an emergency situation to avoid imminent danger to self and others. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Subject to wet floors, extreme temperatures and loud noises.
Must be able to bend, stoop, lift and carry dish racks weighing up to 50 pounds on a continuous and regular basis.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move freely without restriction through out the kitchen and grounds.
