Maintenance Technician - GE Aviation - Terre Haute, IN

At GE Aviation Terre Haue, IN we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team.


Essential Responsibilities


In addition you will:
Perform preventative maintenance and documents work performed


Perform basic inspections on forklifts and performs minor repairs with assistance


Install electrical conduit and components with assistance


Maintain repairs and rebuilds electrical components with assistance


Inspect and troubleshoot equipment / machines and make appropriate repairs with assistance


Perform single and multiple phase wiring with assistance


Identify variances and report to supervision


Operate forklift, scissor lift, and aerial bucket


Contribute to continuous improvement and supports business initiatives


Coordinate service work with outside technicians


Communicate the status of work in progress to supervision and/or Team Leader


Perform minor repairs to heating / cooling unit


Perform basic electrical work / repairs.


Identify variances and reports to supervision


Follow all safety and quality standards with willingness to lead by example


Assist Team Leader with training entry and intermediate Maintenance Technicians


Perform selection and validation of new manufacturing equipment


Interpret electrical schematics


Design and modifies electrical circuits


Perform all applicable duties within team / cell / department with no supervision


Perform all other duties as assigned


Qualifications/Requirements


High school diploma /GED


Minimum of 2 years of electrical manufacturing experience


Eligibility Requirements:
Ability and willingness to work any shift (day, afternoon, or midnight)


Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics


Completion of a trade school program or apprenticeship in the electrical field


Minimum of 5 years of electrical manufacturing experience


Ability and willingness to maintain a safe and clean work environment


Ability and willingness to follow all safety and EHS policies and procedures


Basic understanding of personal computer and software


Ability and willingness to follow all GE and regulatory requirements


Ability to maintain quality workmanship with attention directed to task at all times


Ability to evaluate quality problems that inhibit the process with an effective solution


Ability to adapt to new methods and / or customer satisfaction


Display good communication skills, both written and oral, in the English language


Maintain records and perform related duties in assigned department


Cooperative in meeting schedules and customer satisfaction


Display teamwork attitude towards others in department and facility


Maintain satisfactory attendance and work reasonable amount of overtime as needed
