Production Engineer - Supervisor/Paint/Coatings
A multi-billion dollar manufacturing company is seeking a Production Engineering Supervisor who has a background in coatings or paint applications. This person will provide and lead engineering in the area of coatings processes (paint, metallizing, e-coating, spray-coating) for new automotive product launches and development projects.
Responsibilities for the Production Engineer
- Provide day-to-day technical support for the coatings processes in the plant
- Coordinate the design and purchase of new equipment, and manage installation and start-up
- Lead and/or support continuous improvement activities to reduce scrap and machine downtime; including analysis of data, tracking, and preparation of reports to document activities
- Address internal and external customer complaints, conduct investigations, develop root cause analysis, determine countermeasures
Requirements for the Production Engineer
- BS Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or a related discipline
- Be able to communicate with engineers and managers on all levels of authority.
- Experience with a coatings process (preference is for plastic applications)
- 6-10 years of applicable coatings experience.
