SUMMARY: An Academic Instructor provides leadership and facilities individual educational objectives for students. Performs professional instructional services consistent with certification area and is responsible for the academic progress of assigned students and assisting students to learn specified subject matter and basic skills that contribute to their overall academic and personal development. Teacher assignments are varied and dependent upon the needs of the facility.
Reports To: Education Manager/Principal
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a core content area. Must have an Indiana Teacher’s certificate and have experience working with difficult populations/at-risk youth.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must hold or be eligible for an Indiana state teacher certification. Current valid driver’s license from state of residence with a satisfactory driving record as defined by Children and Family Services/Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village’s vehicle policy and/or liability insurance carrier. A current valid driver’s license must be obtained within the first thirty (30) days of employment if driver’s license is from a state other than one of residence. Annual training is required. Must meet all requirements for pre-employment as required by Children and Family Services/Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village and/or state regulations and licensure requirements.
