Head of IT Services - Europe and South Africa

As a leading provider of automotive financial services, our client offers an extensive line of financing plans and vehicle and payment products to customers and dealers. They are currently looking to recruit a high calibre IT professional to join their team and head up the IT services for their Europe and Africa region (EAR).

As Head of IT Services, you will have overall responsibility for all activities for the European and African region. This will involve planning, directing, managing and overseeing the EAR IT strategic plan, service delivery, project delivery activities and compliance operation.

You will provide IT technical leadership and support to the EAR executive management. This will include participating in the development and implementation of the business strategy, and aligning the EAR IT strategy to the business strategy.

In addition to providing the EAR IT strategy and strategic planning, you will support the global IT strategy committee in the delivery of IT initiatives, research and evaluation of new IT solutions and technologies, as well as define, develop and communicate the EAR business-driven IT strategy.

Your other duties will include:

- delivering IT performance reporting
- negotiating and monitoring service level agreements with internal customers and external providers
- directing the preparation and implementation of policies, procedures and standards relating to IT
- creating and maintaining a working environment that encourages individual and team creativity and innovation
- providing a stable and secure IT infrastructure

To be considered for this position, you must have:

- experience of working in a European and/or global company
- a full understanding of international business processes and procedures
- an IT professional services background
- a working knowledge of developing an IT market place
- the ability to work from a global perspective

As Head of IT Services, you will be self-motivated and a lateral thinker. Excellent communication skills, a strong leadership style and good negotiating skills are also key.

Whilst not essential, experience gained within the financial services industry would be a distinct advantage to your application.
