Seasonal State Worker - Raccoon State Recreation Area - Department of Natural Resources - Rockville, IN

The Raccoon State Rec Area is looking to fill several temporary positions for the recreation season. The incumbent for any of these positions may be required to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The successful candidate must be willing to work outside in potentially inclement weather and be able to perform in a fast paced environment. Available opportunities may include:

Gate Attendant :

• Collect revenue from fees and rentals
  


• Know and explain park regulations and information to visitors
  

Housekeepers:

• General cleaning include sweeping, dusting, mopping, and hauling trash of all types of property facilities, this may include heavy lifting
  


• Sanitize bathroom facilities (including toilets, urinals and showers)
  

Laborers:

• Perform limited carpentry and plumbing repairs, this will require the use of power tools and heavy equipment
  


• Maintain the general cleanliness of the property, including picnic areas, shelter houses, and comfort stations
  

Office Assistant:

• Answer inquiries concerning park information
  


• Assist in preparing financial reports, which will require simple mathematical calculations
  

Security Officers:

• Monitor activities of visitors and report problems to property management or other authorities
  


• Check park boundaries, which may involve walking park trails
  


• Provide visitors with park information and regulations
  

Preferred Experience:

Valid high school diploma or GED; or one (1) year of work experience.
