Receptionist - Great Lakes Caring - Terre Haute, IN

The Receptionist is responsible for greeting visitors, receives and routes incoming telephone calls as appropriate. Receptionist also performs data entry responsibilities as needed. Provides clerical support and assists with projects as delegated.

JOB DUTIES

Greet all visitors and directs them to the appropriate person.

Answer all incoming calls in a pleasant and proper manner and directs them to the appropriate person or department.

Keeps reception area appearance neat and tidy at all times.

Takes messages as requested, and delivers to the proper person in a timely manner.

Texts or emails employees as appropriate.

Assists in evaluating agency operations and systems and identifies ways to enhance workflow and productivity.

Notifies supervisor of any problems requiring administrative attention and intervention.

Assist with a variety of duties including daily clean-up, equipment cleaning and tracking.

Sort and stamp incoming and outgoing mail as appropriate.

Direct referral calls to proper person.

Prepare employment application forms and provide same to walk-in applicants.

Mail information to clients, referral sources, and community organizations.

Maintain conference room meeting calendars on a daily basis.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION: High School Graduate or GED equivalent. Associate Degree preferred.


LICENSURE: Must have current and valid driver’s license.


EXPERIENCE: 1-year experience in a health care setting as a clerk or medical record technician.


SKILLS: Requires interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff. Knowledge of medical terminology required, Medicare and Medicaid guidelines preferred. Able to demonstrate problem-solving skills, organizational skills and attention to detail. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to operate computer equipment, FAX and photocopy machines necessary.


TRANSPORTATION: Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance coverage.


HEALTH STATUS: Meets all applicable agency policies and procedures related to agency health screening requirements and required testing.


Physical Demands:
Complete required work on a daily basis.

Cope with work involving ill, disabled, and dying patients.

Sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently.

Move equipment and supplies necessary for job functions.

Read, speak and write English in order to fulfill job functions in an understandable way.

See/hear or use prosthetics that enable accomplishment of job.
