Legal Outreach Advocate - Council on Domestic Abuse, Inc. (CODA) - Terre Haute, IN






The legal outreach advocate will work in an office around the Vigo County Court House square, assisting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault as they navigate the criminal justice system. This is a new position which will partner with the local police to meet victims on the scene at domestic violence situations to give them immediate assistance. In addition, the outreach advocate will be expected to travel to our four surrounding counties to form partnerships that will reach more victims, and offer trainings to direct service providers.
This position will also involve assisting the executive director with tasks relating to grant applications and reporting requirements. Applicants should be goal-oriented and driven, with a history of professionalism. Grant-writing experience is a plus.
All CODA employees are required to participate in the emergency on-call rotation, which involves escorting victims to safety during off-hours. A bachelor’s degree is required for this position, and experience with the criminal justice system is preferred.
