Legal Advocate - Council on Domestic Abuse, Inc. (CODA) - Terre Haute, IN
The legal advocate will work in an office around the Vigo County Court House square, assisting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault as they navigate the criminal justice system. This position provides direct victim advocacy including safety planning, assisting victims in filing orders of protection, and serving as liaison between the victim and the court system. Responsibilities may also include coordinating and providing specially developed law enforcement training to law enforcement officers, court personnel, and social service agencies. In addition, all CODA employees are required to participate in the emergency on-call rotation, which involves escorting victims to safety during off-hours. A bachelor’s degree is required for this position, and experience with the criminal justice system is preferred. Job Type: Full-time Salary: $25,000.00 /year Required experience:
