SUMMARY:  The Clinic Nurse plans and provides comprehensive nursing care including, but not limited to, executing physician’s orders, dispensing and administering medications, and assisting physician in examinations and treatment of patients.  Applies nursing and supervisory techniques required in the care, treatment and referrals of youth.  Performs procedures such as initial head-to-toe assessments, intramuscular injections, vital signs, phlebotomy, and basic life support/CPR.  Obtains and transmits urine, blood and other specimens for lab analysis and adheres to policies, standards and assuring safety of the youth and staff. 


 


Reports To:  Director of Support Services


 


QUALIFICATIONS:  Degree in nursing required. Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Licensed Practical or Registered Nursing license.  Must be licensed in the State of Indiana or certified in the field of specialty in the state of employment.  One year of professional nursing experience. 


 


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  Must hold a current valid LPN or RN nursing license in the State of Indiana.  Current valid driver’s license from state of residence with a satisfactory driving record as defined by the CFS/Youth Village’s vehicle policy and/or liability insurance carrier.  You must obtain a current valid driver’s license with in the first thirty (30) days of employment if your driver’s license is from a state other than the one you reside in.  Annual training is required.  Must meet all requirements for pre-employment as required by the YouthVillage and/or state regulations and licensure requirements
