Annual Giving / Alumnae Relations Mgr


The Annual Giving and Alumnae/I Relations Manager is a full-time position responsible for increasing annual donor support primarily for unrestricted use by the Sisters of Providence. The manager has an in-depth understanding of annual giving as the foundation of a healthy development program and, within that context, provides strategic direction for the overall advancement of the Congregation.  The staff member in this position will lead the Annual Giving Team, serve as a member of the Development Team, a member of the Editorial Board for a quarterly magazine and participate in social media discussions.


Job duties


The Annual Giving/Alumnae/I Relations Manager:



  • create and implement the annual fund plan for the Sisters of Providence, with oversight by the Executive Director and assistance from the Mission Advancement team.

  • produce the direct mail solicitations, which may include writing the solicitation, editing, layout and managing relationships with print and mail house vendors.

  • analyze data from fundraising efforts and make recommendations for improvements or changes to annual fundraising strategies

  • create the strategy for and organize the annual Phonathon

  • coordinate the annual donor recognition dinner

  • develop annual giving opportunities for social media and email

  • develop new strategies for finding annual giving prospects

  • update the development section of the Sisters of Providence website, including all donation forms


 


The staff member will also:



  • work with the Sisters of Providence (SP) and lay alumnae association coordinators of closed SP high schools to facilitate and continue relationships with the associations and their members

  • promote alumnae events

  • encourage alumnae to keep contact information current

  • support alumnae volunteers in their work to hold reunions.



Qualifications


To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and experience:



  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, fundraising or related area.

  • A minimum of three years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, annual giving experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in software packages including: Raiser’s Edge, Excel, Word, design software and web content management (such as WordPress).

  • CFRE or equivalent preferred.
