Hospitalist Coordinator - Sound Physicians - Terre Haute, IN
I. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Hospitalist RN Administrative Assistant is a member of the hospitalist team who is responsible for assisting the Hospitalist RNs (HRN) in the delivery of Sound Core Processes designed to improve quality and efficiency in the care of hospitalized patients. The Hospitalist RN Administrative Assistant works closely with the HRN team to support their work in driving performance of the hospitalist team. This position does not involve providing direct patient care.
The Hospitalist RN Administrative Assistant reports to the HRN team on site and the Regional Nurse Manager (RNM).
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
1) Assist HRN team to collect and report program metrics (e.g., concurrent Core Measures, Sound specific HCAHPS, VTE work lists, Foley Catheter data tracking)
2) Support the HRN team in scheduling meetings and keep meeting minutes at team functions
3) Assist the HRN team in the development of tools and workflows
4) Assist the physician team as directed by HRNs to help expedite patient throughput
5) Provide timely status updates to the HRN team and respond to requests in a timely manner
6) Attend required meetings on time and as scheduled:
- Regular meetings with HRN team
- Hospitalist team meetings
- Other meetings as defined by the HRN Team, RNM, and Director of Operations
7) Engage the Hospitalist Team:
- Daily communication with hospitalist team
- Work with HRN team to support the education of physicians on Patient Experience and Quality Measures and other opportunities to improve team or hospital performance
8) Identify opportunities for improvement in tools and workflows
Schedule: M-F; 9-hour day w/lunch; 7:00am –4:00pm depending on site
III. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, TRAINING, OR SPECIAL LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS POSITION:
- Knowledge and experience of a hospital setting

- Proficiency with technology, including electronic medical systems and Microsoft Office Suite
IV. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Education
Minimum: High School Diploma
Preferred: Medical Assistant
Experience
Minimum: 1-2 years in Healthcare as a Medical Assistant or Hospital Unit Secretary/Medical Office Secretary
Preferred: 2-3 years working in Hospital Setting

VI. OTHER PHYSICAL AND/OR SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS ABOUT THIS POSITION:
- Standing on feet for up to eight hours (w/breaks)
- Sitting at desk for up to eight hours (w/breaks)
- Working on computer for up to eight hours (w/breaks)
- Moving/lifting anything (up to 10 lbs).
