ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Director OBprovides oversight and leadership within assigned area of responsibility.

The Director OB assists in the management of the overall operational,budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities.

Director OB promotes consistent and effective utilization of the nursing process.

The Director OB coordinates patient services initiatives regarding evidence based nursing practice and quality nursing care.

Director OB effectively manages and directs all areas of responsibility to ensure quality, productivity, and good customer relations.

The Director OB coordinates the development and implementation of a productivity system to patient census and needs.

Director OB determines staffing requirements, and interview, hire and train new colleagues, or oversee those processes.

The Director OB coordinates the development of nursing standards and assures that standards of care are met for patients and families.

Director OB plans and allocates resources to effectively staff department and meetproductivity and quality goals.

The Director OB formulates business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures.

REQUIRED:

5 years related experience

3 years leadership experience or equivalent in a related field

IL state RN license

Degree/Diploma Obtained Program of Study Required/Preferred

Masters Related Discipline Required

Educational requirements apply to any new hire after 6/1/2014. 

Incumbents are held to the education standard at time of hire and will be exempt from the above requirement and given credit for experience as long as they are able to demonstrate knowledge and ability toperform job duties based on the local entity’s ongoing assessment of competency
